“A New Vision”
The dictionary defines vision as an act or power of anticipating which will or may come to be. Divine visions give us direction and a glimpse over our life to make our goals and purpose (both spiritual and temporal) become a reality. In order to understand where we want ourselves to be in life, we must have a clear vision of our life. A couple of scriptures come to mind when we speak of visions:
Solomon tells us that without a vision or goal we wander aimlessly and will not reach our intended destination. We need to have clear specific goals concerning the spiritual direction and goals we want to achieve.
Pro 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
Our visions and goals are for a specific time. Often we have to wait for things to fall into place in order to achieve them. Part of man’s problem is that we have very little patience, or we choose to help God along in our journey instead of waiting upon Him. The prophet Habakkuk tells us the vision is for an appointed time and it does not lie and it will definitely come. This new year take the visions and goals God has given you and wait for them, confess them, degree and declare them to be in your life.
Hab 2:3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
One of the promises in the Bible is the promise of the Holy Spirit. Jesus tells us (Jn 7:37-39) that when the Spirit comes out of our inner bowels will flow rivers of living water. He told the disciples and followers to wait in Jerusalem until they receive this power. The prophet Joel tells us that when this Spirit is poured out things will begin to happen. There will prophecies, dreams and Visions!
Joe 2:28 "It will come about after this That I will pour out My Spirit on all mankind; And your sons and daughters will prophesy, Your old men will dream dreams, Your young men will see visions
You have a great opportunity to go deeper! In order to go deeper we must know where we’re going, how we are going to get there and what tools we will need to dig deeper. Seek God and ask Him what we wants to do with you. Stay in the Word, if you haven’t already, get a Bible Reading Plan. Establish definite times to pray and do not let anyone, including family, disturb your prayer time. Begin to give of yourself sacrificially, meaning fasting, study, prayer. Begin to dig, each day continuing to dig. Deeper and deeper until you find the wells of living water.
When the Lord gives us dreams, goals and visions there is one who is always around to steal, kill and destroy our excitement and enthusiasm. Don’t let him!! Walk in your vision, continue to dream your dreams and pray for those divine visions and revelations this year.
In closing remember:
Our main job in life is to get as close to the Lord as we can.
To love Jesus with all our heart, mind and soul.
To be pleasing to God in word, thought and actions.
To be a blessing to others and take care of our families.
Luk 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me,
let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
Luk 14:27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me,
cannot be my disciple.
