1Pe 1:2 according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to obey Jesus Christ and be sprinkled with His blood: May grace and peace be yours in the fullest measure.
We often talk of the Whole Armor of God in Ephesians 6. We read of the helmet, sword, shoes, loins and shield of faith. We focus on the equipment but we fail to utilize one of the most important pieces of protection in our arsenal, the “Blood of Jesus.” In the opening scripture, Peter writes to the scattered and the chosen that they should be sprinkled by the “Blood.” What does it mean to be sprinkled by the blood? The Greek word for sprinkling is rhantismos and is defined as: a sprinkling (purification).
There are four things that happen when we are under the “Blood of Jesus.” The equipment in Ephesians 6 speaks of Truth, Faith, Word, Salvation, and the Gospel but we have additional protection and provision under the power of the Blood. Let’s go back to Exodus, there are four things I’d like to point out:
We have protection under the Blood of Jesus
Exo 12:7 And they shall take of the blood and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it. (13) And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.
Isa 54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.
Heb 9:12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
We have Promise under the Blood of Jesus
Ex 12:23 For the LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the LORD will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.
Col 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
Eph 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
We have Provision under the Blood of Jesus
Exo 12:35 And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they borrowed of the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment: (36) And the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they lent unto them such things as they required. And they spoiled the Egyptians.
Psa 105:37 He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes
Joh 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. (14) If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
1Jn 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: (15) And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
We have Power under the Blood of Jesus.
Exo 12:37 And the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand on foot that were men, beside children. (38) And a mixed multitude went up also with them; and flocks, and herds, even very much cattle
Eph 4:8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. (9) (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? (10) (He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)
Rev 1:18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
Rev 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
1Co 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
When we Plead the Blood of Jesus over our circumstances and situations we have a divine promise of protection, We have assurance that it is for everyone who believes and the promises that God will always take care of His children. We also have the “Nuclear Option” against Satan. The Blood will always be victorious.
